WB Surf Camp partners with Quiksilver and Roxy.  

WB Surf Camp is extremely excited to announce their partnership with global board sports leaders Quiksilver and Roxy. “We have had a longstanding relationship with Quiksilver dating back to 2002, and I am really excited to step it up this year” said Surf Camp Founder Rick Civelli.  WB Surf Camp is now the exclusive Quiksilver and Roxy camp in North Carolina, and is the only sponsored teen overnight camp in their North American network of programs.   

This partnership is beneficial to all involved and will give Surf Camp access to additional resources, adding more value and quality to its programs. “Rick Civelli and his experienced crew of instructors operate a solid, quality camp that kids and parents have confidence in.  Of the many goals we have with our instructional camps, providing a safe and authentic experience for kids learning to surf is at the top of the list, and we know Rick and his team will do just that” said Jeff Wilson, Director of Quiksilver Travel/Camps. All sponsored camp locations are hand-selected by the staff at Quiksilver and Roxy to ensure campers get the most quality instruction from the best programs in each area. Wrightsville Beach, NC, May 23, 2008

Surf Camp, Inc. is excited to unveil its new kids summer camps, Guppy Ocean Safety Adventure Camp for 6-10 year olds.  We know that a child’s first experience with the ocean will shape their attitude towards it for the rest of their life.  This program was designed to build confidence and ocean safety awareness one step at a time.  This is not your typical “day care” summer camps.  Guppy Camp is a highly educational, action-packed, full-day, week-long adventure!  Parents can drop their children off at either of our convenient Wrightsville Beach or Ogden office locations.

Between 8:30 am and 4:00 pm, Guppies will be boogie boarding, swimming, clamming, crabbing, fishing, seine-netting, building and flying kites, canoeing, playing the ukulele, exploring, learning, and making new friends.  During the week, campers will visit the NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher, the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Hospital, as well as visit many other fun-filled locations.  Guppies will also be educated on American Red Cross Basic Aid Training, ocean safety, rip current awareness, marine life, wave dynamics, conservation, weather, importance of fitness, and much more! Kids will leave with a new found level of comfort in the water and a well-rounded knowledge of the ocean! This camp has a 4:1 student to staff ratio and is the perfect precursor to one of our many learn-to-surf programs.  Guppy Camp is offered for ten weeks throughout June, July, and August.

Competition for the position of Guppy Camp Director was high. After interviewing many applicants, Surf Camp has hired a Director with a PhD in Youth and Family Counseling.  All staff hold current certifications in American Red Cross Lifeguard, First Aid, and CPR.
